Laws, Policies and Institutions

Kuwait signed the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, this law supported the efforts in utilizing and spreading of the Arabic Makaton communication in Kuwait.

Assistive devices and personal assistance

The vast advancement in technology supported the spread of the Arabic adapted version of Makaton. This was accomplished by developing applications for several platforms. With the advancement in technology, iPhone and iPads can be used as assistive equipment, and hence lower the cost usually being paid for specially customized assistive technology devices.
