I’ve always felt at home with the Special Olympics Nigeria Football team. At the 2019 Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi, I went for the Healthy Athletes Screening which was for all athletes. At the Healthy Hearing section, the doctor wore hearing aids on me. And at first, I could only read his lips, and then suddenly I could hear him say ‘hello’. As I returned to the field of play with the rest of my team, I gave my best as I always do and together, we won the gold medal! The World Games was a double blessing as my team won a gold medal

Also, I was among the over 300 participants selected to be a part of the Sports for Hope project which was sponsored by the Embassy of France in Nigeria in 2019. After weeks of training and practice, I represented my community in the football tournament in November 2019. At the end of the tournament, I was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) which made me so excited. I hope to keep encouraging others with disabilities to overcome obstacles.
